Here is a list of some things that can be super helpful to keep stress levels at bay. The end of the semester can be an incredibly difficult time for many, but over the years I have found what works for me.

1) Schedule blocking

Schedule blocking has been an absolute GAME CHANGER for me! Schedule blocking is when you schedule out everything in your day. This could look like: 8-9am get ready, 9-10am breakfast at sweet spot, 10-noon social media homework, noon-1 lunch, 1-3 studying, 3-4 gym, 4-5 dinner, 5-7 digital marketing homework, 7-8 grocery shopping, 8-10 relaxing. By scheduling out your day, it leaves less room to stress over your to-do list and when you’ll have time for other daily activities.

2) Creating a peaceful space

Another thing I have done, is creating a space I enjoy being in. Dorm rooms can be incredibly stale and irritating to be in. Adding alternative lighting, art, soft textures, nice scents, etc.. can help put your mind and body at ease and in turn allow you to work and relax better. Some elements I personally love include salt lamps, essential oils diffusers, and knit blankets.

3) Leaving time to relax

As a part of my schedule blocking, I always make sure to leave time for relaxation around homework. Just because your to-do list is long, does not mean that your relaxation time needs to get cut short. Our minds work better when they are rested, so leaving time to unwind will make your productive time even better.

These 3 tips are just a few ways in which you can keep your sanity during these last few weeks of classes (and always)! Theres so many ways to keep our stress levels at bay, these are just a few that work for me. Don’t get discouraged if these tips aren’t best for you! Just try some new things and see what works with your mind and schedule!
